JOIN THE SERIES

This series of Words by Heart, Books by Hand workshops happening at Rānui, Henderson, and Te Manawa Libraries. The finished books will be featured in a travelling exhibition—popping up across local libraries as a celebration of community creativity and story-making.

Each session stands alone—join one or come to all!

WORKSHOPS

Reclaim the Page – Participants will paint over used card or paper to create covers and pages, then be guided to bind them into a saddle-stitched book.

Location: Ranui Library - Sat 10th May

Folded Story – Participants will create an 8-page zine-style story using prompts and reclaimed paper from the first workshop.

Location: Henderson- Sat 17th May

I Have a Story to Tell – Crafting a prompt journal with Japanese binding, participants will be inspired to create their own stories or drawings.

Location: Te Manawa- Sat 24th May

These workshops provide a space for participants to share and transform their stories into books, emphasising the power of our own story connected with place and community. One workshop at each library - Book for each workshop stand alone or can join all if wish.

Materials all provided and kai shared at the end of each session.

COST: Free, booking essential.
