“Identity Is My Right to Be Me” – Creative Workshops
Join Your Library to Help Create Something Special for World Children’s Day!
Come be part of a creative adventure! With support from Save the Children Fund and The Light Library, tamariki and whānau will explore what it means to say: “Identity is my right to be me.”
We’ll each make a handmade book to take home, and work together to create a new prompt poem about identity. This poem will become part of a special resource for whānau to make their own books, shared across libraries in our city and throughout the country. Our co-created book will also be part of a special display this November for World Children’s Day — with your creative voice and hands woven into it!
Workshops are free, fun, and open to ages 9+ (with caregivers).
All materials provided, plus shared kai.
Younger whānau are welcome too — options will be available so all ages can take part.
All Children must be accompanied by a Caregiver.
Workshop Dates:
Takapuna Library – Sat 30 Aug
Howick Library – Sat 6 Sept
Takaanini Community Hub – Sat 13 Sept
Te Atatū Peninsula Library – Sat 20 Sept
Times: 10:30am – 12:00pm
Come create, connect, and celebrate your story!
